Work Work Work

Hey everyone! I'm really sorry about my absence over the past few days and what will be more absence over the next few days. I started a bit of a working spree on Sunday with a wedding. Worked in the studio on Monday then yesterday I worked 9-5 in the studio then had a shoot until 11:45 that night. I left my house at 8:30 am and got home at 1 am. That's a long day lol.

I don't have much food to show you but I figured I'd supplement it with some cool photos I took last night. I should be back with some food on Friday. Sorry for the brief hiatus but I have weddings today and tomorrow too.

It was a long day yesterday but I was rewarded with the following views :)

Cool silhouette shot of the skyline.

Night time shot with the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building to the left. Check out how pretty the sky is too.

The bridge on the right. We were right under it. Such a beautiful location.

Not a bad night at the office! Tonight I'll be working a wedding near the beach on the 4th of July. I'm anticipating it being ridiculously hot and hitting a lot of traffic. Hopefully I'll be able to see cool fireworks at least!

OK that's all for today. Hope you have a great 4th of July! Can't wait to see all of the festive meals you are eating!

  1. Gosh, that is a lot of work! Really beautiful shots from last night, looks like such an amazing setting for an event. A Fourth of July wedding! Very patriotic of them! :) I hope it goes well, and that you are able to see some fireworks!

    1. Yeah, needless to say I'm exhausted. I just remembered today that I have physical therapy at 7:40 am tomorrow so I can't even sleep in. I have to be awake in 6 hours. Oops, lol!

Last night was really beautiful and thanks!. Today was good, very nice couple and I saw a few fireworks on the horizon. Tomorrow is a long day, we are contracted to work 11 hours (not including travel). I anticipate being out of my house from 11 am until 12/12:15. After that I should be able to rest hopefully!

  5. Didn't you say they make you wear all black for these jobs?

    1. Yeah, more often than not I'm wearing all black. I bought a dark gray shirt to wear sometimes when I want to try and fool myself into not having heat stroke. Thankfully we are only outside for a little bit at a time, usually no more than 1.5-2 hours at a time. I've been looking for a black maxi dress or a long black skirt to wear because it'll be more airy but haven't found anything I like yet. Oh well.

  6. Beautiful shots. Hope you get some rest time soon. Who the hell would get married in the summer anyway?

    1. Thank you! Oh man me too. I am surprised I am not sleeping yet to be honest with you! Oh man, tons of people! July is our busiest month! All of the teachers get married in July because they have a little time off before the wedding and a month after. I think it's funny because obviously it is obscenely hot but there is also an abundance of tan lines, shine/sweat, inappropriately dressed guests and once in a while you have a fainter. It's feast or famine in this business!

  8. Beautiful photos; I especially like the bridge one. I've had a number of jobs where I had to work on holidays, and I found it really hard, especially when I had friends who were not working. You have a such a good attitude, and I admire that. Looking forward to your next food post. We'll be waitin' for ya!

    1. Thanks Rachel! I guess I"m getting used to missing events. Trust me, I don't have a good attitude all the time lol! I hit a major wall yesterday, i have been a zombie all day today. Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight and feel refreshed tomorrow. I'm also working on some major rehydration!

Aww thank you! I should be back with more food tomorrow!

Mike is working a lot this week, too. We're always busy around any of the holidays. Hopefully things get back to normal for us all soon!

    1. Thank you Molly! It's tough to work on the holidays but I agree, hopefully things will get back to normal. I'm working on figuring out how to plan meals on work days since my energy has been completely drained over the past few days. Hopefully I'll come up with a good plan because I think I have 3 weddings next weekend. Yikes!
