I've been loving my iPhone since I got it, especially all the great apps that make life easier. I tend to have random thoughts come to me so I downloaded a great Grocery List app so I can add things anytime I think of them. I've also been using a great app called Lose It! and I love it. It allows you to figure out how many calories you are eating a day and also how many you burn through exercise. It's nice to be aware of this and it also helps you figure out how many calories you should be eating to reach a specific goal. It's got a huge database of foods and even has restaurants in there so you can easily calculate how many calories are in your meal from popular chains.
My detox is still going well with the grains added back and the sweeteners and processed foods still out. I had some really great meals today!
Breakfast was another bowl of amazing oats. I added raisins and walnuts (and cinnamon) to this bowl. So delicious and warming. It was SO COLD today!
Midmorning snack was an apple.
I still didn't have groceries for lunch so I grabbed a burrito bowl from Chipotle on the way home from work. I had my usual combo of brown rice, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and lettuce. So good.
And I discovered thanks to my Lose It! app that this meal only has 425 calories. Not bad for takeout, and is pretty darn nutritious. The only thing is that I bet it has a lot of salt but I'm not really sensitive to salt and I don't add salt to my own cooked meals so I'm not concerned :)
I had a small handful of about 15 almonds for a little energy before the gym. My trainer had to cancel again so I still went in for cardio. Kind of a bummer but nothing I can do.
For dinner I had some sesame tofu with roasted butternut squash and roasted brussels sprouts Very delicious!
Hope you all had a great day! My car should hopefully be fixed by tomorrow. Yay! Happy weekending everyone!
What a bummer that your car is still dead, but great that your mom is letting you use hers. I'm glad you posted about the apps. Makes me want an iPhone even more now! I'd especially love it for note making since I'm constantly writing things down.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great food day all around! I love the first several days after we go shopping. So many great choices. :)
Sorry to hear about the trainer! The one I previously worked with has been courting me to return, but with the impending holidays and trying to cut down the spending - I can't workout with her for now. I'm thinking of saving up, and attempting CrossFit in the spring - have you heard of it?
ReplyDeleteI've heard of those apps, I'm wondering if Blackberry has something similar (that's what I have).
Hooray for fabulous families and yummy eats!
I love my iPhone, too! I literally cannot put it down :) Happy to hear your detox is still going well - your Chipotle burrito bowl is always my go-to meal when I'm in a hurry. Nutritious AND filling.. can't beat that.
ReplyDeleteMmm looks so good! Have you thought about adding green smoothies or juicing?
ReplyDeleteMolly - I thought the apps portion would be useful for you! They have so many great apps that make life easier, my only regret about this phone is that I waited so long to get it!
ReplyDeleteIngrid - Funny thing is he had to cancel because of his car! We were both without cars. It's all good, we'll get back on track next week hopefully. I don't think I've heard of CrossFit but definitely fill me in! Check out the apps for the blackberry, they are great!
Ashlae - Thanks! I love the burrito bowl, I can't believe it took so long for me to try it! Now I can't get enough :) I'm totally obsessed with my phone, obviously ;) I love that it takes pretty good pics too! Now I can snap a quick shot out in public and try and not make it obvious.
Sophie - Thanks! I tried to add some smoothies during the summer but I get so cold in the fall and winter that I try to stick to warm foods. I'm not very good in the cold :X
I need to get one of those 'Lose It' type apps for my Droid.
ReplyDeleteNot to be a bummer, cuz I love Chipotle, but I really think the Burrito Bowl is more than 425 calories. Unless you stop them from piling the Rice & Beans on? I usually don't, but they often ladle in a ton of Rice & Beans, like they want to make me fat.
The Chipotle I got to just opened so I think the staff was probably freshly threatened with portion costs and whatnot because they don't do heaping ladles of anything. One normal spoon of beans, a spoon of rice and a spoon of everything else. Seriously, I thought the same thing but as I watched them make it they really didn't heap it on there at all.
