I had my double training session today and warmed up for that by doing 30 minutes of light cardio on the arc trainer. After a 2 hour workout I feel really great. My session was pretty intense today but I felt great doing it. The first 30 minutes was all upper body - mostly boxing on the heavy bag but with some elbow strikes as well. The next 30 minutes was lower body - mostly kicks with some knees and a few lunges. The last 30 minutes was core, full body and a little bit of cardio finished up by stretching. I felt strong throughout and I noticed that my side kicks and spinning back kicks have improved a lot. I've had problems with them in the past, mainly because I'm a spazz ;)
Anyway, here is what I ate today!
Berries n Cream smoothie for breakfast. Lots of spinach in this one :)
Orange for late morning snack.
Lunch was a chopped salad with some stuffed grape leaves. Fresh and delicious.
I drank 36 oz of water during my workout then 36 more when I got home followed by a protein shake. I was going to finish my Thai food for dinner but I'm sure you can understand why I'm not hungry right now. I'm going to my friend's house tonight to help her pick out her wedding photos for her digital album (slideshow) and we are going to watch The Voice again :) I'm sure something will find its way into my belly, and I'm sure it will be in the form of hummus.
Hope that the evening treats you well. I'll be back to catch up on your blogs later this evening! Cheers everyone!
Spinning back kicks?!?! Wow! I'll have to Google it for a demo, they sound tough! I'm so jealous of your awesome workout, you really knocked it down (figuratively and literally!).
ReplyDeleteMy coworker and friend was chowing down on stuffed grape leaves the other week, and a few people were asking about them! They look lovely settled there on top of your salad.
Hope you had a great night with Adam L. ;)
I'll post a video of spinning back kicks if I can find one on YouTube. They aren't that hard, they just require a little bit of coordination. I still can't do heel kicks bc I'm a spazz.
DeleteThanks! I love stuffed grape leaves obviously. If they are good enough for the Greeks (the healthiest people in the world) they are good enough for me!
I did thanks :) Blake isn't too shabby either!
Who says vegans are wimps? You kick ass!!
ReplyDeleteReally, Sarah, you represent so well- you're awesome. :)
Aww thanks Molly :) I appreciate that!
DeleteYou sure love those Stuffed Grape Leaves.
ReplyDeleteYes I do :) I guess I should branch out but they are just soooo good!
DeleteSounds like a pretty intense workout; nice job. I wish I were as motivated as you! my accomplishment for the day was a two hour walk. Not much, but at least I got outside. It was too gorgeous not to.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great workout. I am only motivated for these sessions because I love it. I have been telling myself for weeks I'm going to start running but other than a few times on the rebounder I haven't. Which is silly because I know my sessions would be even better if I would just suck it up and run.
DeleteA two hour walk is great! I agree, days like today are too beautiful to waste. I hope you get to enjoy the weather again tomorrow! I'll be stuck inside from 1-9 but I'm going to try and get out before that :)
"Double training. Oh my god. What does it mean?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSNhk5ICTI
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you really kick ass.
Haha that's awesome! And thanks :)
DeleteOne of the best things about Saskatchewan is that we don't do that Daylight Savings Time stuff. :) Happy hummus-ing and chilling with your friend and etc!
ReplyDeleteAnother great thing about Saskatchewan in the name "Saskatchewan!" Seriously that is so fun to say! ;) But seriously that's awesome I'm a bit jealous because it is kind of a mindf*** lol. Had a great time, thanks!
