I've also began my running for Tough Mudder. Today and yesterday I did 2 miles worth of intervals. I did 2 minutes jogging 2 minutes brisk walking. I'm going to start with 2 weeks of intervals then start going for distance. I'm also starting a new training schedule with my trainer in June where one day is still devoted to my fight training and one is devoted to running and strength training. Then I'll continue to run on my own as well as strength train and train on the heavy bag on my own time. Baby steps. That's the only way I'll get through it!
Anyway, I had some great food today!
Breakfast was not surprisingly another smoothie. This one is frozen banana and strawberries, almond milk, Vega Choc-a-lot Shake & Go powder and spinach.
Mango for snack!
Check out this yummy salad! Spinach, roasted portobello mushroom, 1/2 of an avocado and 1 tbsp of raw sunflower seeds. Balsamic vinaigrette. So delicious!
Dinner was another Mexican Quinoa Bowl. I took a proper photo with a real camera this time. Just as good this time around!
I won't be posting tomorrow since I'll be out for about 12 hours but I assure you it'll be more of the same. I'm very excited to have Monday off though! Of course my family is getting together tomorrow. Go figure. It'll be nice to relax though.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! I'll be back on Monday with more clean eats!
Congrats on reaching Week 2! You are rocking this cleanse so far :)
ReplyDeleteYour eats look awesome as usual! All things I would love to sink my teeth into! That salad looks gorgeous and that quinoa bowl is definitely something I'll be making soon- looks so quick yet delicious! The perfect kind of food.
Good luck with your training! I wish you luck and well-being for your shoulder :)
Gabby @ the veggie nook
Thanks Gabby! The quinoa bowl is amazing, I definitely recommend trying it! It's so hearty and filling too!
DeleteThanks! My shoulder feels aggravated after running, probably from the impact (the first time I went to the Dr. for the problem they told me no running or impact... see how well I listen?) but it goes away after a cold shower! Thank you so much!
That's awesome that you've been doing this! It sounds like the cleanse is going wonderful for you. Great job on running, too! I know how hard it can be to get back into it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Molly! It's definitely difficult to get back into it but having a goal makes it a little easier ;)
DeleteWeek two!! Congratulations!! and yay for yesterday's run! Baby steps:) Although...2 miles is nothing to shake a stick at! That's a solid workout! :) and your meals really did look fabulous! --- drooling over that smoothie:) enjoy your day off!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Caralyn! Two days of running down :) Feeling sore but good. I'm just going to get my mileage in and build on it. The smoothie was great! It's like an ice cream sundae in a glass!
Delete12 hour work day today then one day of freedom! Can't wait!
Nice job with no spillage on the smoothie! Looks delicious, and that salad does too! Wow, roasted mushrooms are so good.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the training.
Hahaha it was close on the smoothie! It made so much! The salad was yummy and roasted mushrooms are definitely good!
DeleteThanks!
Hooray for week two! I bet you're really feeling amazing! Interval training is great, I really enjoy it. I'm giving myself this weekend to recover (hoping that allergies and exhaustion pass), then I'll be joining you in the intervals!! In terms of breathing, I like to do a short run (less than two miles) without music and make a rhythm out of my breathing. I'll do it every so often to make sure I keep it a habit. Does that make sense? :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of your meals! The shake sounds so decadent, and I need to buy some sunflower seeds for salads - thanks for the reminder!
Hey Ingrid! Yes, I do feel really good :) Thanks for the breathing tip, that does make sense!
DeleteThe shake was yummy and the seeds added a perfect crunch to the salad. It was a really great salad! Lots of texture :)
This is a perfect food day! Looking forward to your holiday post. Hope we see a little cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shen! Unfortunately I missed the holiday festivities yesterday when I was working so I won't really have a holiday post :( Sorry!
DeleteGreat work with the running. Sounds like a great way to get into it.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the sound and look of that salad. YUM!
Thanks Rose! I'm definitely trying! :)
DeleteThe salad was great, definitely give it a try!
Yum mangos! Definitely the best snack out there :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having a successful crazy sexy diet cleanse!
Thanks Lauren! I know, I LOVE mangos! So sweet and delicious :)
