As the day went on I started to feel a bit yuckier and my appetite has been diminishing so I'm glad I got some nutritious eats down earlier when I had more of an appetite.
A big, thick green protein smoothie for my post workout breakfast. I can't work out if I've eaten right before so luckily my session was early. This is the Peaches 'n Green smoothie with frozen banana and peaches, almond milk, Vega vanilla protein powder (full serving since it was post workout) and about 2-3 cups packed spinach. It was really good.
Lunch was this snacky plate. Carrot, stuffed grape leaves, a few Mary's Gone Crackers, some strawberries (random, I know) and some hummus. Also delicious.
For dinner I ate most of this hot and sour soup. You know something is up when you can't taste the spice at all in hot and sour soup. And this place makes it hot!
This is the first day in a long time that I didn't have a big green salad. I'm ok with it though, I've been doing pretty well with it and I'm planning on having one tomorrow. I know I haven't eaten enough so hopefully I'll get a little hungry later so I can have a snack. If I do have a snack it'll either be a piece of avocado toast, some fingerling potatoes or some air popped popcorn. We'll see what I'm in the mood for!
Tonight I'll be resting and watching the prelims for the UFC fights. I'm actually really really bummed that I can't see the main event (stupid $50 PPV) because I've been looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll be able to track it down because it is going to be a great fight hopefully!
Hope you all enjoy your Saturday night!
That stinks that you're not feeling well. :( Everyone at work seems to be sick, so it's just a matter of time before Mike or me (or both of us) gets sick, I'm sure. Bah!
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous how much they charge for those PPV events. Mike's gone in with his brothers before to watch them, but that's still a lot of $$.
Have a great weekend and feel better!
Yeah I think when everyone around you is sick it is pretty much inevitable that it'll get into your system eventually. I think that I'm lucky because I've been working hard to keep myself healthy and I don't think it hit me as hard as it hit those around me.
DeleteThe fights are really expensive. It is ridiculous and I can't believe people pay for them consistently. I'm bummed though, the guy I wanted to win ended up losing so I'll just wait and watch him lose for free. Bummer.
Thanks, you too!
You too, huh? Sorry you're not feeling well and hope it goes away fast. Hot & sour soup sounds perfect for sniffles. All the food looks great, as usual. Love your snack plates.
ReplyDeleteYup me too! Not too bad thankfully just a case of the sniffles. Didn't feel too bad when I woke up this morning. The soup was great and thanks, the snack plates are always yummy and satisfying!
DeleteNo! No sniffles! I think you should be exempt from all illnesses after dealing with bronchitis recently. I'm hoping the restaurant forgot to add the "hot" to your soup, and that's why you can't taste it! :) Please feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThink I'll be trying the Peaches and Green this week!
Haha thanks Ingrid, I agree! I feel ok just slightly under the weather. There was definitely hot in there, I felt it in my belly, just not on my tongue! Such a weird feeling!
DeleteOooh can't wait to see how you like the smoothie!
Ooh the soup sounds fab, and I'm not even sick. I've never had hot & sour soup and it sounds so good! Hope the cold passes quickly.
ReplyDeleteHot and sour soup is probably one of my favorite kinds of soup. I would definitely recommend trying it! You can find it anywhere, but like any soup you just have to be careful and ask how they make it. And thanks me too!
DeleteHope you're feeling better by now. I'm thinking you're picking up all these germs at the gym.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shen, I'm doing a bit better! Nah, my coworker was sneezing all over everything the day before I got sick, I think it was from her. It's inevitable this time of year.
DeleteI hope you're doing better. Perhaps more hot & sour soup is in order - that sounds like a great fix for the "sicks." (Sorry couldn't resist the little rhyme. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I appreciate the rhyme!
