Banana Date Shake

So sorry about my absence over the past few days.  Been super busy with work so it has been hard to get pics of my meals.

This morning I woke up with zero appetite and feeling super yucky.  I didn't want to eat anything but I knew I needed something in my belly.  I was looking through cookbooks and realized I FINALLY had all 3 (sad that I never had 3 ingredients at the same time) ingredients to make the Banana Date Shake in How It All Vegan! which I've been wanting to try since I first read the cookbook.

It was really good! I garnished the top with a sprinkling of shredded coconut and cinnamon.  It was very sweet so I'm glad I halved the recipe and made a small portion of it because my tummy can't handle much right now :(

And how cute is my cupcake mug?  It is a small mug so I don't really use it for coffee but I'm glad I finally got to use it!

I'll be in bed most of the day trying to not feel yucky but I'll definitely photograph the rest of my meals and get a full post in later. :( boo for feeling yucky!

  1. Since you're not feeling up to par, I'm not gonna but your chops for not being able to tell a dog from a cat. Now please don't bust mine for not knowing which particular cookbook this post refers to...

  3. Haha, that is funny that it took a while to have all those ingredients on hand, but it does sound delicious. I really don't pay that cookbook enough attention. Love the coconut topping AND that super cute mug!

  4. I know, I always have bananas, but never frozen and on a whim i decided to save some over-ripe bananas by freezing them. I got dates the last time I went to Whole Foods to experiment with homemade larabars so it all came together! It was delicious but sweet...I'm thinking about freezing them into popsicles though for a summer dessert treat. The coconut added nice texture too! I LOVE my mug, it was a gift so I don't even know where to get more!
