Sassy Treats and Cookie Bracket Winners!

Hey everyone! In the spirit of Friday and because I've only been showing you super clean food, I decided today's post was going to be dedicated to sharing the super cute treats I made for a friend's party I'll be going to tonight. It is for women and will have jewelry and make-up and fashion so I thought sassy mini cupcakes would be perfect for the occasion!

I just got finished baking and frosting 4 dozen mini cupcakes. Look at how cute they are!

I decided to go mini because they are all cute and dainty. I wanted to do bold colors and went for the pink, blue and purple!

I started baking BEFORE I realized I didn't have the right sized liners. I figured that since they are going to be eaten tonight it isn't a big deal. My poor naked little cuppies.

I hope everyone likes them!

And finally, the winners of the Holiday Baking Bracket!!

Magical Coconut Bars and Almond Joy Cookies! I'll be making both of these treats, plus a few other before the holidays. Lots of coconut this holiday season ;) Stay tuned, I'm going to announce a giveaway after Thanksgiving! Yay! Thank you all so much for voting, hope you all had as much fun with it as I did!

Also, I decided to sign up for Twitter. I don't know why, I guess I thought it would be fun. If you are on Twitter and want to follow me you can click the follow button above my blog followers list. Or find me, @xvavaveganx. Comment with your Twitter name if you'd like!

I hope you all have a great Friday night. I know for sure I won't be posting tomorrow because I will be working from 11am until about 1:30 am. Yeah, that's a long day. I'll see you Sunday though!

P.S. No I haven't strayed from my cleanse, I did not and will not be partaking in the cupcakes. Wah!

  1. The cupcakes are adorable! You got the frosting so perfect & what great colors. I bet they'll be a hit.

It's a tough one, but I think I have to go with the Almond Joy cookies. Either one is a winner, though.

I'm going to go follow you on Twitter now. I don't tweet much, but do browse it a bit each day. :)

  2. Thanks Molly! They are fun, I'm hoping the ladies will love em! Oops! I forgot to clarify that I'll be making both of those flavors this season! I narrowed it down to 2 and I'm making them both, plus some other treats. I'll edit and clarify. And thanks for following me, Twitter is kind of fun! :X

  4. How did you get the colored icing? I was thinking of bringing vegan cupcakes into work (temporary insanity, doubt it will happen), but would like to know how to do this if I go through with it.

  5. Those look very cute. I can't believe you're not going to even have a taste of one! You're pretty good at these detox things, huh? I can only last about a week usually. I don't really eat cupcakes, but I don't think I could resist trying one of these.

  6. Shen, do it do it!
I agree with Molly, the frosting job is great. Super cute. I'd probably like a mini muffin tin, but I'm banning myself from buying more kitchen appliances.

  7. Much applause!! You definitely have a talent with baking! I will cry quietly in the corner about the pumpkin chocolate chip, but otherwise I approve of the winners. :)

Holy overtime, catwoman! I hope the day goes by quickly for you, and if it's a wedding - may there be vegan eats.

  8. Claire - Thanks! Yeah they had to go without the liners but they disappeared quick enough that it didn't matter!

Shen - I just used food coloring. Wilton colors are vegan. I use a lot because I like mine vibrant. I think you should definitely go for it!

Isobelle - When I cleanse I do it right ;) I also just wasn't in the mood so it made it easier to resist. Haven't been feeling 100% today so it messes with my appetite and something as sweet as icing would be bad lol.

    Brittany - Thanks!

FF - I agree, Shen should totally do it! And thanks :) I like the mini muffin tins and the yield on mini cupcakes is great! 4 dozen from one batch! You can get one for like $5...a much smaller investment than something like a vitamix (but I still want one!!)

Ingrid - Thanks! Aww you should make the pumpkin chocolate chip! I don't think they were that hard, it was the recipe my mom made for my bday. http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=26495.0 And yes it is going to be a long long day and it is a wedding. Apparently it'll be a very extravagant wedding from what I understand. Very curious.

  9. I think sassy describes these well and totally cute to, of course. Perfect for a girls night! I love it, reminds me of your purple nail polish too. I think the cakes look good w/o the wrappers. Fair play to you for having the will power not to eat any.

Yeah for the Almond Joy cookies making it to the final!

  11. the cupcakes are so cute!
i'm glad the magical coconut bars made it to the finals. my grandma made them every christmas (well, not the vegan kind!) so for me, they just scream holidays. but the almond joys sound awesome, too!

  12. I think they look good naked. And your frosting job is fabulous. I'm proud of you for not partaking. One of these days I may get on twitter.

  13. Rose - thanks! I totally was thinking about how they matched my nail polish. I was gonna take a pic holding a purple one but I didn't. Oops! And yes the almond joy are awesome I'm happy too!

Vic - ha! Yes it was but those ladies devoured them! Keep checking in I'm going to announce a giveaway after thanksgiving for treats!

Sara - thanks! Yeah I like the two winners and it'll be different from what I made last year. Gotta love coconut!

Jenny - awww thanks! I've frosted many cupcakes so I've gotten quite efficient ;) yes you should totally do twitter!

  17. Blessed - Thanks!! I was a little bummed out about not have the liners at first but I like the way they came out in the end and no one at the party seemed to mind! In fact, it's just easier to get to them this way ;)

  18. So white frosting with food coloring? Is it in VCTOTW?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yup, that's all it is! I used the basic frosting recipe in VCTOTW except I used another 1/2 cup of margarine instead of shortening. Then I just added food coloring to make it vibrant.
