Thanksgiving Recap!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I was totally unprepared for it this year so my Thanksgiving meal was basically a continuation of my every day diet which is kind of fine for me. I had a nice day and my meals were tasty, though not exactly traditional Thanksgiving fare. We went to my brother's house so it was my family and the animals :)

For breakfast I had a bowl of oats with banana, walnuts and cinnamon.

I snacked throughout the day on carrots with hummus and clementines.

I cooked up my favorite side dish for the family. Roasted brussels sprouts with caramelized onions. This batch came out amazing!

For my main dish I just whipped up some brown rice with roasted cauliflower and roasted chickpeas. Boring but still delicious.

My brother found out that there is a vegan restaurant around the corner from his office and sent me the link (this was totally unrelated to Thanksgiving). I checked out the link and made a comment about how I would go there for blueberry coconut cake alone. Wouldn't you know it he went there and got me some blueberry coconut cake! We surprised each other with treats! I had a small piece of it and it was delicious! No pic though, sorry :(

Delilah says hi!

She was a happy girl!

Stretching out in her PJs!

Jack decided to climb their tree. You can't tell because this is a close up but she got up almost to the top! I'll post a full length tomorrow for you to see.

I hope you all had an amazing holiday! I'm thankful for so much :)

OK I'm gonna go catch up on blogs and ice my thumb because I totally busted it during my training session today. Direct elbow impact :( Ouch!

Have a great night everyone and yay for the weekend (I worked a bit today but have Saturday and Sunday off)!

  1. The cat is hilarious! Haha aw, I want to put a tree in our tiny apartment just to see my cat climb it.
Anyway, the Brussels are totally holiday fare. They look great, as always.

  2. Lucky you, sticking with your regular eats. If only we all could have been so lucky.

Thanks for sharing more Delilah. Whoever does her hair does a great job.

Cats do love Christmas trees. We have a Cat that looks just like Jack and when he was a kitten, he'd climb our tree nearly to the top as well. He'd get really irritated when we tried to stop him. The ornaments would be trashed and discarded all over the house as well.

  3. haha, cats are funny. I've never had one though, I have always been a dog person (I was scared of cats as a kid because of their eyes). And I agree with Shen, whoever does Delilah's hair does an awesome job. I kinda think I should start wearing mine like that. Bring out a new trend.

  5. Looks like a great time was had by all! I tried the "don't worry about me" meal plan, but my mother was super insistent that I "participate" as closely as possible. Ha!

Sorry to hear about your injury - hope it heals quickly!

  6. Your simple meals look good to me. I wish I would have taken my own personal meal for thanksgiving. I'll try to post about mine Saturday.
Too funny about the cat in the tree.
Way cool about you brother bringing you a vegan blueberry cake! Did he like the chocolate covered chips?

  8. FF - Thanks! All of their children (fur babies and Delilah) have funny personalities :) We couldn't believe how high she got!

Shen - I really wanted one of those stuffed "turkey" gardein things but couldn't find them, which I guess was probably better off. My sister in law does her hair, and it is always so cute! She has a ton of it! Luckily they didn't have ornaments up yet!

Isobelle - You should totally wear your hair like that! I wanted to wear bows but then all the hipsters started to and I lost interest ;)

Jay - Thanks! She is my niece and she is the best!

Ingrid - Haha my mom kinda knows that I'm gonna do my own thing so she doesn't push it :) And thanks! I miraculously didn't bruise! It is sore to the touch but not bad at all. Go figure, icing an injury DOES help!

Michelle - Dinner was delicious. I am glad I made my own, I wasn't in the mood for the other stuff anyway so it was better off to eat what I wanted. My brother loved the chips and I loved the cake so it was a great trade :)

Sara - I know, he is very thoughtful that way! It was really good. LOL glad you liked the family pics :)

  10. Lol I know, I love the pic of her in the tree! I was supposed to take holiday pics of Delilah yesterday but she napped too long so we'll try next weekend and I'll make sure I post some!
