Crazy Sexy Diet Day 4: Instagram Edition!

Hey everyone. Not much to say. Been a stressful week. I feel much better now. I'm a little lethargic but no headaches, no nausea and my appetite is returning. However, on Monday my tire exploded on my car and then yesterday someone went into my car and looked through everything while it was warming up. I have a remote starter and someone decided to try and help themselves to my stuff. Good thing I don't keep anything at all in my car. I've been pretty mellow about all of these events though. Been trying to stay calm and not stress, and I think I've reacted much better than I would have in the past.

Anyway, this week has been pretty simple food wise. I'll be more prepared next week. I'm planning on making a few dishes from the cookbook to have on hand next week so I can have warm cooked food along with my salads. It's cold and yucky here and since this diet allows cooked food I should actually enjoy it.

I started off my day with another green smoothie. I didn't take a pic of it because it looks the same as the others. I was also running late today so by the time I got to work it was half gone and not photogenic anyway. I took the rest of the photos on my phone and played with Instagram effects.

Late in the morning I snacked on an apple.

Lunch was another swiss chard wrap. These are really really good. I'm bummed it took me so long to try this!

Afternoon snack before the gym was some raw almonds.

After the gym I had a protein shake which I didn't take a picture of.

For dinner I had some brown rice avocado and cucumber rolls and a big green salad on the side. I thought the sushi was more exciting since you'll be seeing a lot of salads over the next two weeks.

I took this picture this morning after a crazy storm. I thought it came out really cool. The sky was pitch black but the sun was shining on the shop across the street and the rainbow was coming across the sky. Cool shot and pretty good quality for a phone pic!

Hope you all had a great day! I seem to be settling into the cleanse now. I'm still now happy about the green smoothies. I don't think that's going to change but like I said I'll stick it out through the end of the week. 4 days with no coffee and I'm still functioning. I still miss it a lot...not for the caffeine but because I really just love the taste of coffee.  That is why I treated myself to something that will hopefully solve the problem. I'll show you this weekend ;)

Have a good night!

  1. Great photos! I just went back and read all of your cleanse posts so I could catch up. I have a hard time with smoothies in the winter (just wrote about it in today's post) and I've noticed that if I add nut butters and they're a little heartier (more like a shake) they go down easier and keep me more full. I also add chia seeds and they help. Not sure if this goes along with the CSD though. Your food looks f-ing fantastic, beautiful and fresh. Glad the headache went away :)

    1. Thanks Nikki! Yeah nut butters aren't really a part of the CSD green smoothie situation. Trust me, they would have been in there since day 1! ;) Mostly green veggies and one or 2 pieces of low glycemic fruit.

  2. How can I be four posts behind already? That's really creepy about someone going through your car. So gross! Can you start it and keep it locked?

Anyway, neat pics of the Sushi and Garage.

    1. That was my exact reaction, I was really creeped out. I would typically react with anger but I really just thought it was creepy. Unfortunately I can't keep it locked. I've started it so many times and never had a problem so it was just weird. I felt really violated by it and a little unsafe.

  3. That's scary about you tire! Horriblr that someone would just go in you car like that, too. what's wrong with some people?

great that you saw a rainbow in winter and i hope the weekend treats you better than the week did. you're doing so great with it all!

    2. Yeah my car has been having a bad week. It is pretty creepy, but I learned my lesson and I just won't warm up my car.

Thank you so much for your encouragement! I'm looking forward to this weekend a lot actually. I have a bonus training session on Saturday and the fights are on at night. I'm also going to try and get some cooking in so I'm more prepared for next week.

This is blogger's new reply system and I like it too! I like being able to reply to each comment separately!

  4. I love reading peoples eats on this cleanse. It's sort of my normal diet so I feel more normal maybe. Glad to have found your blog. I like the chard wraps idea, i need to do that.

    1. Thanks for stopping by bitt! It is a great way to eat for sure. I'm starting to get my energy back and I'm feeling pretty good now. The chard wraps were great and I'm definitely going to try adding some more veggies to them too. Sprouts would be a great addition.

  5. Ugh, that's really gross about the car thing! Did you see them? Lucky nothing worse happened.
I love chard wraps probably better than collards because they're prettier and more delicate.
What time did you take the rain photo? It's beautiful! Almost makes me appreciate the rain I totally got soaked in this morning. Almost.

    1. I'm pretty sure I know exactly who it was because he was around as I was leaving. He is a creep. It sucks because it makes me feel unsafe, especially when I have to work until 9. I chose the chard because I knew it was more delicate than collards and kale and I wanted a leafy green but I need to work my way up to kale :)

I took the rain photo around 9:30 am. It had downpoured for a while and then it randomly stopped and the sun just shone on the shop and I loved the contrast of light and dark and the rainbow. I appreciate the rain because it isn't snow!

  6. Nice to hear that you are settling in to the cleanse. To me, it sounds very difficult since l love coffee and am not big on raw foods (though I did eat a lot of fruit today, inspired by your pre-cleanse posts).

That is very creepy about your car, but at least you didn't have any valuables in it.

Cool photos; Instagram is fun, isn't it?

    1. Thank you! The coffee has been difficult and to be honest I prefer my veggies to be cooked but now that I've cut the caffeine I know I need to get my energy from nutrients and raw food packs a more nutritional punch. WHenever I want to stray I'm just telling myself that I'm doing the best thing for my body.

      Love Instagram!

  7. Them wacky instagrams! I've been seeing those a lot lately...is it an iphone thing? I'm hopelessly stuck in a technological time warp. Brown rice sushi is so good, especially with avocado...it's one of those things that I periodically crave in a big way and have to make immediately. Glad you've been feeling a bit better, and that sucks about your car!

    1. Instagram is an iphone app that lets you share photos and put fun effects on them. Thank you I'm feeling much better now and the car survived :)

  8. Boy, I hope you continue to feel better. And, I'm so glad no long-lasting harm was done to your car. Those sushi rolls look great - did you make them yourself?

    1. Thanks, I do feel better today! My car is doing ok, she's an old gal and certainly has lived a wild life. I'm trying to be good to her :) I wish I could say I made the sushi myself but I did not. The common theme of my meals was that they were rushed. I seemed to be running late all day yesterday. I made the rest of my meals/snacks but the sushi was a last minute pickup when i ran out to grab a few things from the store.

  9. Eek! I'm glad you're OK. It must be "bad things happening to your car" week. :( That's creepy that someone decided to root through your car. People can be really terrible sometimes.

I was on a business trip to New York this week. I was only there for a day and a half, otherwise I would have asked you to hang out. 12 hours on planes in 2 days was brutal. Anyhoo, I bought "Crazy Sexy Diet" at the airport. I love Kris Carr's writing. She sounds like someone I'd want to be friends with.

    1. Thanks Sage, definitely creepy to have someone go through your stuff but I guess all you can do is learn from it and move forward.

Aww that would have been so fun to meet you! I can imagine that the travel was brutal, I'm not a fan of flying to begin with (I just get waaaay to antsy and bored) so I definitely can relate to that. I'm glad that you are enjoying the book! She definitely has a great "voice" and is super relatable.
