Crazy Sexy Diet: Day 5

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you all had a lovely week. The week went quickly but I'm definitely glad it is the weekend! Tomorrow is a bonus training session which I'm pretty stoked about, but I'm nervous I'm going to still be sore! I woke up sore from yesterday's session and then did some cardio today so hopefully I'll be ok by tomorrow :)

I definitely am starting to feel normal again. I have not had any coffee since last Sunday, and I did not have any green tea today, so I think I'm finally caffeine free :) This is probably the biggest accomplishment I've had in a really long time because I've tried to kick the caffeine habit many times unsuccessfully. I'm really proud of this.

So lets check out the meals...

Green smoothie. No major changes yet. Going to make a few next week. I'll talk about this on Sunday.

Around 11:30 I ate this refreshing, crispy apple.

For lunch I had the rest of my brown rice, cucumber and avocado rolls with a big ol' chopped salad made with greens, sun dried tomato, cucumber and carrot. I dressed it later with CSD Carrot Miso dressing.

Before I went to the gym to do some cardio I had a snack of gluten free flax crackers with hummus and more sun-dried tomatoes.

When I got home from the gym I made an unpictured protein shake and then did about 15 minutes of yoga, mainly sun salutations and downward dog. Carr suggests you meditate every day and this is my form of meditation. I'm not really a sit at an altar and meditate kind of gal, my mind starts racing instead of clearing. Yoga has always been my kind of meditation, I focus on breath and that allows me to clear my mind the way meditation would. I also just needed to stretch out these legs if I want to survive this training session tomorrow! ;)

My intention for dinner was a baked sweet potato with some raw veggies. Then I realized I didn't have any sweet potatoes. Oops! I was still kind of full from that protein shake so I made a piece of millet toast and added some raw almond butter and a sprinkling of cinnamon to it. The raw veggies still made an appearance.

I'm craving something sweet (hence the intended sweet potato) so I'll probably have a few blackberries for dessert in a little bit.

Hope you all have a great Friday night!

    1. Thank you Molly! It is indeed a hard habit to break....for me mainly because I just love the taste of coffee. I'm definitely missing it but I'm better off now. If I decide to drink coffee after this cleanse at all it will definitely be decaf.

Apples have been delicious lately! I hope you get to stock up soon!

  3. I agree with Shen, everything here looks great. The apple looks super crisp and sweet, the sundried tomatoes nice and chewy, and the millet toast looks kind of tiny but really good as well!

    1. Thanks! The toast was the last piece so it was indeed one of the smaller slices. I have rice almond bread as backup but it isn't as good as the millet so I'll have to replace that. The sun dried tomatoes were rich and chewy and perfect. I love them in my salads.

  4. I love meditation, but it's so effing hard for me. Having ADD and trying to meditate is like trying to keep a 2 year old from touching everything. It's not possible.
Well, for about two minutes it's possible. But I've been getting better.

I love that you do yoga to meditate instead though! I bet that would help since I have to keep moving.

Oh, also. Those flax crackers look SO good! I need to try making crackers some time.

    1. Thanks Isobelle! That is a big reason I do the yoga as my meditation. I just can't focus and I also have ADD. I find that focusing on my breath in yoga helps me to zone out and get into that meditative state.

  5. Wow, you're so disciplined! Good job staying off the caffeine. I can go without my vices for a few days, but then I always think up a million reasons why it wouldn't be so bad if I had some again. All the food looks so healthful and yummy too! Go buy some sweet potatoes! :D

  6. Congrats on kicking the caffeine! Keep up the great work.
I'm with you on the yoga meditation stuff- I find any repetitive task works for me too- I figure whatever works for different people, it's all good :)
I actually made a green smoothie for breakfast today because yours looked so good! Thanks xxx

  7. I love meditating in the morning. Sometimes my mind is blank, and sometimes I'll get an idea that I never would have thought of if I was running around doing normal stuff. I'd like to try yoga again too.

    1. It is always nice to take a few minutes to focus on yourself. It is necessary for sure and I'm learning this more and more. Yoga is amazing I'm glad I've been practicing a little more now. I wish I could find some inexpensive classes to take.
