Crazy Sexy Diet Cleanse Take 2: Day 2

Hey everyone! What a beautiful day we had here in NY.  I woke up late-ish for me and wasn't feeling so great so I lounged around for a bit. When I finally got up my neck and shoulders were still bothering me but decided to suck it up and go to the gym to get in 30 minutes of cardio since it had been a few days since I've worked out. It wasn't the best workout I've ever had and I was quite uncomfortable after but at least I got the blood flowing again. I decided to skip going to the city though and just lounged around and enjoyed the warmth of the beautiful day.

I also ate some really tasty food! Check it out!

Check out this awesome breakfast! I made a half batch of Kris Carr's chia seed pudding from Crazy Sexy Diet last night and was so excited to try it for breakfast! It is the first successful chia pudding I've made (a little sweet for my taste though, I'll cut the agave next time) and I loved it topped with fresh mango and strawberries! So delicious and such a bright breakfast! All raw too :)

Lunch was another snack plate, this one starring hummus and stuffed grape leaves. A mostly raw plate. Can you tell I love carrots?

I wasn't super hungry for an afternoon snack but know I needed some energy so I had one of Gabby's Lemon Coconut Hemp Seed Bites. Perfect pick me up!

Yes, I know this meal is cooked. However, I still think that I made about 60% raw for the day? I felt pretty unprepared for the start of this cleanse because it started so abruptly but while the meal is cooked, it is definitely still healthy. I made roasted sweet potato fries, roasted cauliflower and roasted chickpeas. There's a little organic ketchup for the sweet potato fries.

I'm happy to report that my energy is way up now from this morning. I'm researching foods that cause inflammation and foods that help inflammation as well. I figure that since I'm not getting a ton of help from my doctors, I may as well try and find some solutions myself. This cleanse is step one and permanent changes will be the next step. I've also spent today planning for the next few days so I'm more prepared. Yay! I plan on getting back on the workout plan tomorrow so that is good too :)

Goals for tomorrow: GREENS(!!) and a smoothie. More raw foods and a good workout!

Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoy the rest of your night!

    1. It was really good! I definitely recommend trying her recipes, they are really good!

Haha the hemp seed bite was delicious! I've been eating them sparingly because they are delicious but hemp seeds are so expensive!

Thanks, I'm trying! I appreciate your kind words! Hope you are feeling better too!

  2. The Hemp Bite ingredient list appears to be missing something? They're almost all coconut? They sure are pretty.

Anyway, gorgeous food day. If you don't feel good after all that, we're all in trouble.

    1. Haha, it just looks like mostly coconut because they are rolled in it. There's lots of yummy, healthy hemp seeds in there too!

Thank you so much! My energy comes and goes and I'm still getting headaches. It's very weird.

  3. It all looks very colorful and delicious. The hemp bites look yummy; thanks for the link, I think I'll try to make some this week.

I hope you're feeling better...sometimes it's good to stay in and relax. Let us know what anti-inflammatory foods you discover. I know that turmeric and pineapple are supposed to be good for that.

    1. Thanks Rose! Gabby's recipes are all so lovely and healthy, I definitely want to try more!

I've found a few lists but mostly they say that plant foods and whole grains are the best which is what I eat so it is very confusing and frustrating.

  4. Gosh, I sure hope your neck/ shoulder are better soon. Will you have a training session on Monday or a self-paced workout? I am sending you healing thoughts, as I write!

Great looking meals! I'm impressed with the amount of raw you were able to incorporate, it looks like an ideal day. Love all the orange you have going on - carrots, sweet potatoes, and the cheesy crackers! :)

I hope to have a green-ish Monday, too!

    1. Thanks Ingrid! I'm going to my session today and we always take it minute by minute and adjust to how I'm feeling. He is really good about it. Aww thanks!

This cleanse has been delicious for sure! It feels good to eat light foods and not feel weighed down. That's funny that you noticed the orange! It's become one of my favorite colors over the past year or two and I'm apparently working it into my diet too :)

Haha can't wait to see your Monday green eats!

    1. Aww thank you Elisabeth! The chia pudding was amazing, I'm glad I decided to make it! I would recommend cutting down the agave if you don't like it too sweet though! CSD is so inspiring!

  7. Gorgeous looking food. Dig the chia pudding! Have you made it before? I tend to find them pretty sweet too; especially since there's usually fruit or something else on top anyway.
Even the cooked meal is definitely clean. Nice work. I hope it helps with the inflammation and pain.

    1. Thanks! I have made it unsuccessfully before. I've made it without agave which was less sweet and much better. I figured out a way to cut the sweetness today though and I'll post it later ;)

      Thanks! I hope so too!
