Fun Friday! Stuff I'm Into

Hey everyone! I decided to keep Fun Friday on Friday because my I like Fun Friday AND because my food is boring. Tomorrow though. I promise!

So lets see what's been occupying my mind this week.

I've decided that I'm going to try the Crazy Sexy Diet 21 Day cleanse again to kick start my training. I think I'll probably start it on Monday. These are the books that I will get most of my recipes from. I plan on re-reading Crazy Sexy Diet and Thrive again this weekend. I read fast.

My home exercise stuff. My yoga mat, ankle weights (the black things), MMA gloves, Boxing gloves, jump rope and 2 sets of light hand weights. These will get lots of use in my training as well!

Now it's getting personal. I'm only sharing this with you because I love my readers. I find music to be a very personal thing and I only mention music once in a while. I find that a lot of people judge based on music and it drives me nuts but I figured I'd share this anyway. This is the first 8 songs of my Tough Mudder running playlist. I'm sure it'll change over the next 5 months but this is how it's starting out. As you can see, I've been listening to a lot of Deftones lately.

I've been on a bit of a Jesse Eisenberg kick lately. I saw The Social Network for the first time about a month ago and I actually really liked it and I really liked his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg. I had heard mixed reviews about it and finally saw it (thanks On Demand!) and liked it and became an instant Jesse Eisenberg fan. I also ended up watching 30 Minutes or Less on demand and while it wasn't a cultural masterpiece, it was a fun movie. Then I read that he likes fostering animals, is involved with Farm Sanctuary and is supposedly a vegetarian. I think I have a bit of a nerdy boy crush on him ;)

I chose this photo to represent SUMMER!! Summer is coming and I'm so excited. I used to hate summer. I didn't like the heat at all and it is a busy time for me but I've grown to love it over the past year or two. I think my 4 month stint of Bikram yoga really helped me get used to existing in heat and it doesn't bother me as much anymore. I also love fresh, cooling produce, swimming, the beach early on a summer morning and fun summer street fairs and carnivals. It is almost here and I couldn't be happier! And I think this photo is just stunning!

So that is my fun Friday post! I hope you all enjoyed it! Food tomorrow. I promise. Have a great Friday night!!

  1. I love your fun Friday posts! I need to get a set of lighter weights. I have 8, 10, 15, 20 but I need some 3s or 5s especially for Pilates :)

Ooh I like your music choices! I agree that people can be judgemental in that area, so silly isn't it?

I like that actor too and saw The Socal Network twice! I also looove him in Zombieland. :D

    1. Aww thanks Sophie! I'm so glad that you like them because I really enjoy writing these! I have the lighter weights at home because I would only do heavier training at the gym. If you get the Tone It Up DVD they use lighter weights too :)

Thanks! It is incredibly silly, it takes some of the fun out of it!

Oooh now I have to see Zombieland! I really liked The Social Network and I had no idea that the guy that played Eduardo was British! Definitely fooled me!

  2. Oh yes- Resistance and Uprising by Muse- gets you pumped to kick some serious *ss! I used to listen to that album when I was walking to class in university to make it feel like I was doing something exciting lol.

Good luck with your cleanse- looks like you're armed with loads of good recipes and info! Can't wait to see how it goes for you!

    Yay for summer :)

    1. Muse is so good! Definitely gets you pumped. Like any person doing any fight training, I've dreamed of what music I'd walk out to and Uprising is usually at the top of my list ;)

Thanks!! I'm excited about my cleanse, I feel so yucky lately. I see positive things in my future.

  3. Love your workout gear! That's awesome that so much of it is pink. I never used to like pink but it's really grown on me.

Great music list, too. I love Uprising especially. Mike's really into Deftones.

I've never seen The Social Network, but like Sophie, I loved him in Zombieland (however, my eye was on Woody Harrelson, who is my Hollywood Mike :o ).

    That wave photo is gorgeous!

    1. Thanks Molly! I was never a fan of pink either but over recent years I've grown to love it. I also love that people underestimate me because I'm 5'2 and have pink gloves. Then I hit the pads or the bag and they quickly see I mean business. Just last week some guy told me he'd never want to meet me in an alley. Lol!

Thanks! Uprising is amazing. As are the Deftones. Passenger is my current favorite song.

Definitely have to check out Zombieland! Haha Hollywood Mike that's funny!

I know, I love the color!

  4. I'm not going to judge you on your music choices because I don't think I know any of that music - so it's all great by me! And seriously, whatever works for you. No judging here!

And I just want to say I LOVE your pink boxing gloves - they're the coolest!

    1. Hahah thanks :) This list will definitely keep me moving!

Thank you! I love them too! I probably have to get new ones soon, they have a few rips in them but I'm going to put it off for as long as possible. I was so excited to find pink MMA gloves too!

  5. What a colorful post. The cookbooks all sound like fun. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I like yr playlist too. I used to listen to the Deftones and muse a lot, not so much anymore but it's fun to know what other people like to listen to!

    1. I perused Crazy Sexy Diet and Thrive tonight and I'm so excite to get back to that alkaline rich, nutrient dense, super healthy place I was in. I'm hoping to get a small, inexpensive dehydrator soon and that'll be fun to experiment with too!

It is fun to see other people's playlists! That's why I posted it, fear of judgement aside ;) I know my loyal readers won't judge and I suppose I shouldn't care if anyone does. If it gets my butt moving on that treadmill that's all that matters!

  7. I reread books, too - especially ones involving health! I hope this means you don't have to work, and get to relax all weekend. Jump ropes are great for cardio, do you switch between the rebounder and the rope?

Great music is so important when exercising!

I haven't seen either of those movies, I'll have to sign up for Netflix over the summer and get caught up. Jesse sounds like an upstanding guy!

Beautiful photo! I am suffering from beach envy, and definitely can't go anywhere this summer. Seeing as you are near water, please go to beach once - for me! :)

    1. I figured that is was definitely worth it to re-read and get myself back on board. I like re-reading books as well. I did work a few hours yesterday but nothing that bad. I don't use the jump rope as much as I should but that's definitely going to change!

He does sound like a good guy doesn't he! He is very shy and nerdy which I find kind of adorable ;) He was so good in The Social Network and I have to see Zombieland now that everyone is raving about it!

I will definitely try to hit the beach at least once this summer! :)

    1. Thanks! I missed his SNL episode and NBC must have a Youtube Ninja that immediately blocks all uploads of its programming. Hopefully they'll rerun it!

  9. Best of luck on your detox ! I love your exercise stuff! I was thinking about getting a jump rope but does it matter if I jump through that or jump up and down in one place? Do you see any difference?

  10. I love that wave picture! I'm so ready for summer too. I love seeing what music people are listening to. My musical tastes are kind of all over the place.

Good luck with your cleanse. I could use a detox too...just as soon as I'm back from my business trip in 6 days. I swear I live in the airport.
