Blah Day

So I had a pretty rough work weekend and today was not too much better. My appetite has been down as a result of stress.  Not too much to look at today but here we go.

Breakfast: Banana with peanut butter, raisins, cinnamon and coconut.

Midmorning: Small coffee

sorry for the hideous phone pic!

Lunch: Chopped salad with organic greens, broccoli, sun-dried tomato, cucumber and carrots.

Post workout: protein shake

No dinner yet.  Not super hungry and not all that inspired to cook.  Any suggestions?  My shoulder is also a bit jacked up from carrying heavy bags all weekend then training tonight so I'm a bit of a mess lol. I'll try and figure something out.

  1. I always end up eating more when I'm stressed, bleh. Looks like you stuck pretty much to your usual, at least. That's usually a safe bet. Hope things get less stressful soon.

  2. The banana looks like a biscotti at first glance; I love the way to sort of frost it top with yummy things!

Your salad looks super healthy. Sorry to hear it was a stressful and blah day...hope tomorrow is better.

  3. Thanks, me too! I usually eat more too but today I think the mixture of the stress and the heat made me completely lose my appetite. I did stick to the usual because I knew it was important to at least have some fuel before my training session. I dropped the ball after the workout though. Oh well, it'll get back to normal soon. BTW you totally inspired me to try to eat more raw meals, I'm going to try a few recipes from Ani's Raw Food Kitchen!

  4. Thanks Rose I appreciate that :) The peanut butter and banana combo is one of my favs, clearly! I'm going to switch to almond butter after this jar of pb is gone though just for a change.

  5. I'm way backed up on your blog. The sun-dried tomatoes in the salad is such an excellent idea. I still need to try them on Hummus as well. Do you get the oil-packed or do you rehydrate the dried ones?

  6. I rehydrate dried ones when I'm cooking or adding them to my salads. When I buy the salad from the Caterer/deli place I go to I believe they use oil packed. I prefer the dry but the oil packed is fine in a pinch. I'd probably use oil packed to make a sun-dried tomato hummus and skip the olive oil...that would be some fine seasoning!
