Detox Day 2

Hey everyone! Today's post is going to be quick because I need to head out to work soon. Just to let you know I won't be posting every day of my detox because sometime you just need a break, but I'll be posting as much as I can.

Check out what I'll be eating today!

Breakfast was an apple topped off with some almond butter, raisins and cinnamon. Great way to start the day!

For a midmorning snack I'm planning on eating a banana and having a small coffee that is half decaf half regular. I'm trying people!!

I enjoyed lunch so much yesterday and have so much spaghetti squash that I decided to make the same meal again, except this time I added some broccoli. This will definitely be a hearty clean midday meal.

Dinner is going to be a big, beautiful chopped salad.

So far so good with this cleanse. I really love eating this way, it is just a matter of making it a habit again. Now that the winter is coming and wedding season is slowing down I'll have more time to cook and won't have to rely on convenience foods so I feel good that these habits will stick.

Hope you all have a great day!!

  2. Sounds and looks like a GREAT food day to me! That spaghetti squash looks so good! That's another thing that I haven't tried yet, but plan too very soon!

We do the half and half on the coffee at my house...It's not so bad. :o) My hubby has started drinking straight decaf now, but I can't handle that. I need a tad bit of caffeine....ha I drink tea most of the time through the week now and coffee on the weekends...most of the time that is. ;) Have a good day!~

  3. Looks yummy, as always. I just recently got some almond butter, and I like it so much more than peanut butter. I've been missing out.

I'm always so impressed when someone gives up caffeine. I worry that I would go on a murderous rampage if I gave it up.

That's so weird that your blog disappeared yesterday! I worry about that happening to my blog, and I really should figure out how to back it up. Glad it seems to be working now.

  4. That's a lot of veggies, which is so terrific! That apple looks like a perfect breakfast. I'm going to have to have that some mornings.

  7. Thanks everyone!

Brittany - Thanks! I've been enjoying all of my meals so far! I hope I'll be just as enthusiastic a week from now when I'm doing my second week grain free! ;)

Michelle - Thanks! THe spaghetti squash is so good! I'd recommend pairing it with some sort of protein so it keeps you fuller longer. Veggies are filling but don't stay filling, ya know? I liked the half decaf half regular. I'm willing to make compromises but I just love the taste of coffee so much I can't see depriving myself of it.

Sage - Thanks! I know almond butter is SO good and better for you than peanut butter. I haven't given up the caffeine yet but I'm working on it. I know I was really upset that it disappeared! I had to change my password for the second day in a row today. I'm considering moving my blog if it keeps happening because it is really ridiculous.

Molly - Thanks! I loved the apple today I'll probably have one tomorrow too. Such a great fall snack.

Shen - Eek I totally forgot about it! I popped a banana in the freezer when I got home from work I'll make myself a smoothie tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me!

FF - Thanks! Yay for spaghetti squash! Can't wait to see how you prepare it!

  8. It makes me a little sad that your detox food is my every day food - a nice reminder of how 'not normal' my diet is! Ohh, the joys of having a horrible gastrointestinal tract. But, I promise that if you keep it up you will continue feeling like a million bucks - totally worth it.

PS - I'm eating an apple covered with almond butter and raisins riiiiight now! But I wish I was eating that salad next - it looks delicious.

  9. There is no way you should be sad about that! This is the way I SHOULD eat every day and will hopefully continue to eat every day after this cleanse is over (with grains obviously). I already feel a lot better and I know that after the month it'll be amazing! I've done this once before and I remember I felt phenomenal after which is why I decided to do it again. ANd thanks! Apple and AB is my favorite snack at the moment!
