Crazy Sexy Diet Cleanse: Day 3

Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement, it really means a lot. I woke up with no headache (yay!) but still feeling quite lethargic, a little dizzy and low appetite. I'm a little nervous because I have a training session tomorrow and I don't want to feel crappy walking into it.

My meals are 95% raw today because I have to bring most of them to work with me and Kris Carr suggests you stay away from the microwave so raw meals it is. Check em out!

Green smoothie in the window... I couldn't find my mason jar which is what I wanted to put it in but oh well. This one is spinach, cucumber, avocado and a pear. It was fine. Still not loving it.

Blackberries for a snack later (probably around 11:30) with some green tea.

Big ol' salad for lunch. Mesclun greens, carrots, cucumber, sun dried tomatoes and grape tomatoes. Will be topped later with Carrot Miso dressing from CSD.

And for dinner...

Pre-rolled swiss chard wrap. Hummus, carrot, sun-dried tomato and cucumber.

After rolled. This'll be good!

I've thought about the whole green smoothie situation and I'm going to stick it out every day for the first week and then I'll assess the situation. I'm considering switching it to every other day and eating an approved CSD breakfast with an apple cider vinegar drink for the extra alkaline boost. I'll take the rest of the week to decide. I am not one to quit something I start on but if I'm not feeling well I have to make adjustments. I'll see how the rest of the week goes.

Hope you all have a great day today!

  1. I love green juice and Kris Carr- so proud of you for doing well on the cleanse! I'll have to try that swiss chard wrap - it looks delish!

  2. Beautiful! All the colors are so vibrant, making the food appear almost like art! Do you put water in the smoothies? I put in a lot - nearly a cup. It's kind of like flavored water (and that's why I get nearly a full mason jar - mostly water).

You definitely have more resolve than I do! I think what you have planned sounds perfect; one has to be reasonable!

  3. Just a suggestion for you - try something acidic and tangy in your green juice. I put fresh lime or lemon juice in mine (sometimes apple cider vinegar if I don't have that) and I think it makes a major difference. But, I really like tangy sour stuff so that may just be me.
It might help you like it more, though! :)

  4. The chard wrap looks awesome, as does the salad. I wish I had some sundried tomatoes right now! The smoothie sounds good. How do you like the avocado in there?

  5. Jesse - Thank you so much. The support I've been getting from everyone has really helped me stick with it through the withdrawal.

Ingrid - Thanks :) I have not put water in the smoothies...probably because I don't want to drink more than I have to ha! I get a really large portion too... I'll keep trying to get a recipe perfected that I like.

Isobelle - The first smoothie I had I made a limeade green smoothie that had 3 limes in it. It was quite sour but I did like it. I would just add a little more stevia next time to sweeten it up just a little more. Thanks for the tip!

FF - THanks! I am a sun-dried tomato freak, I love them. I don't mind the avocado in there and since I haven't been eating much lately I knew I could use the calorie boost. I would prefer to eat avocado and enjoy it that way because I love them so much but you gotta do what you gotta do!

  6. Sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly, but glad you woke up w/o headache. Is it the lack of caffeine? Your regular eats are so healthy anyway, but all this just looks so fresh, healthy and good! Your wrap is so enticing!

    1. Thanks Rose! Yes I think it was all from the caffeine withdrawals but I'm finally starting to feel human again. I eat pretty healthy but I definitely cut corners a lot more than I should and I'm learning this with all of the prep time I've needed this week! It has been worth it though the food has been good. The wrap was so delicious I had another one today! :)

  8. Definitely wasn't enough calories, I'm totally aware of that. I've been having appetite problems since getting rid of coffee but now that I'm feeling better I'm definitely going to be more on track with the calories.

  9. I think the smoothies would get to me after a while, but I'm impressed that you're sticking with it. Sometimes I just want something warm for breakfast.
