Manic Monday

Hey everyone! Hope you all are easing back into your work week. I went in to work early today so I could leave early and get a quick trip to Whole Foods in. For the record, I hate going there if it isn't the crack of dawn or later in the evening. The particular one I go to is nice but the people that shop there are such idiots I can't deal. I'm pretty sure I used every expletive in my vocabulary in the parking lot. On the plus side, I did get some good stuff :)

Big ol' english cucumber, 2 avocados, 3 honeycrisp apples, and some raw cashews and coconut chips for a raw dessert I want to make.

Raw original super cookies (which I tried and are pretty good!) that were on sale, Vanilla Almondilla Vega Shake n Go Smoothie powder (been wanting to try this flavor and it was also on sale!), 3 larabars and a raw gluten free granola type bar (blueberry nut flavor).

HUGE container of spinach, spring mix greens, organic frozen blueberries (can you guess what will be made with these? I bet Ingrid can!) and GF millet bread.

Today's meals were pretty standard but delicious. Tried to eat clean so I could keep my energy up for my 2 hours at the gym today. Had a double training session and did 30 minutes of cardio before. It felt great!  Hopefully I'll be able to maintain my energy and get some more great workouts in!

For breakfast I tried a little variation on my "green" smoothie. I tried using frozen raspberries as the fruit. No good. I felt like all I was doing was chewing on seeds. Lesson learned, that's not happening again!

An orange as a late morning snack.

Lunch was leftover brown rice with steamed tofu, broccoli and eggplant. Very good!

I just sucked down a Vega chocolate protein recovery shake. I'll eat something before I go to my friend's house to watch The Voice and ogle Adam Levine. Probably a salad. Drinking the protein shake is really filling but I'll make sure that I eat some sort of yumness for dinner :)

Hope you all have a great night!

    1. Haha I'm not even going to pretend :) They are all talented and whatnot but Adam and Blake are purdy ;)

  2. You mean you don't dig the self-entitled/absorbed folks that wield their trollies mightily down the isles at WF? I can relate.

    Food looks good today!

I'm off to check out this Adam Levine person you speak of.

(PS: Sorry I haven't been commenting. I was out of town and just couldn't swing it like I thought I would be able to.)

    1. OMG it is just as bad in the parking lot! I wish I would have taken pics of how they all parked. Right on the line, totally crooked, taking up two spots. It is crazy! There is also a vacant look on their faces. So frustrating to maneuver around it.

      Thanks!

Adam Levine is purdy and tattooed. He is a bit smaller than I typically go for but ya know, I can make an exception ;)

No need to apologize for being out of town, hope that it was for fun reasons! Glad to have you back!

  3. I totally get you about shopping at Whole Foods. We get the same way at our co-op when it's busy. The term "douche bag" comes out of our mouths a lot, as well as expletives.... heh :)

    Great haul all around!

    1. Oh douchebag is definitely a recurring word when I go there. It's where all of the entitled, vapid, obnoxious people come together seemingly with the sole purpose of pissing me off.

      Thanks!

  4. Loved all your ideas about music on the other post! Also, I've seen a few running videos on YouTube - and as you said, they totally pump you up. Speaking of videos, have you seen the one about Whole Foods (the rap parody one). Hilarious! Absolutely know what you mean about shoppers. :)

Can't wait to see the dessert you create using coconut! My crystal ball shows a few blueberry infused smoothies! I, too, learned the hard way about seed-heavy fruit in smoothies. My incident involved kiwis and blackberries.

    1. Good, I hope that helped! I also forgot to mention if you have a smart phone you can download the pandora app! It is great, you can create your own stations and it changes up your playlist. I haven't seen the Whole Foods video I'll have to check it out!

Haha the blueberries will be used tomorrow ;) I don't know when I'll get to the raw dessert but it'll be lovely when it happens. Ack kiwis and blackberries I bet it took you a while to chew that smoothie!
