Toasty Sunday

Hey everyone. First, I just want to thank you all so much for your kind words and support on yesterday's post. You are all very sweet and I appreciate all of your positive thoughts.

Today was a toasty one here in NY. It was actually a perfect, beautiful day. I got to the gym as soon as it opened at 9 and got in some cardio. After that I visited my friend that just had a baby (such a beautiful baby, so teeny!) and then ran some errands, including a trip to Trader Joe's to stock up on essentials.

My food has been strange lately so I'll just show you what I ate today (well at least what I remembered to photograph).

Unpictured: Post workout I had a half of a banana and some almonds.

Yesterday when we went to the outlets we had dinner in a Mexican restaurant. I had the other half of the wrap pictured above that was stuffed with rice, beans and veggies. It was really good and really filling, and that's why I had the other half for lunch today. I just ate the filling and wish I would have asked for it in a bowl instead of a wrap but too late. I just ripped the wrap open and ate the filling and I wish I would have taken a photo of the carnage. At dinner I finally drank my strawberry margarita I've been wanting since my birthday 7 months ago. Well half of it then I was pretty well buzzed and passed the other half to my bro. What can I say, I don't drink much ;)

For a snack I had a grape fruit leather.

And I decided to treat myself and enjoy an iced decaf soy latte with cinnamon. The weather was too good and it was the perfect way to welcome the warm sunshine. Between the coffee and the margarita I'm pretty well set on splurges and it is back to the veggies and green smoothies tomorrow.

Dinner is some moo shoo veggies so I'm getting in some good veggies and the sauce is light so I'm pretty happy with that.

Hopefully tomorrow will be back to normal. I'm noticing the bruising coming back on my body and a general feeling of fatigue so that means it's back on the high raw food train.  I've got some good stuff planned.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! It went too fast, back to the grind. Wah.

  1. Wow, interesting burrito filling. There's a lot of different stuff in there!
Glad you treated yrself to the margarita...they can be strong, though, for sure.
So funny to see coffee back on your blog :) I hope you enjoyed it all!

    1. I know I was surprised when they brought it to the table! It wasn't what I was expecting but it was really delicious. Yup it was strong and I'm a cheap date haha but it was fine and I'm thinking that is a good thing because Margaritas have mucho calories! Only drinking half is a good thing ha!

I know it was strange to post coffee again! I'm so proud of myself I've been doing well with that and now if I do drink it I appreciate and savor it more. I definitely enjoyed all of it, thanks!

  2. Lol about the margarita, ha ha! :) One of my biggest weaknesses in life is beer. I typically do such a good job eating well and etc, but beer. So delicious. And it is nice to treat yourself sometimes, but I'm on board with you, after this weekend I'm ready for some crunchy veggies. :)

    1. I've never been a beer person, and now can't drink it anyway because of the wheat but when I drank coffee that was probably the equivalent of your love of beer :) I'm definitely ready for a cleanse so I'll just have to get ready for that!

  3. That burrito looks great! One of the few alcoholic drinks I actually enjoy is the margarita, especially the frozen margarita. I'll have to get one of those some time. This morning I enjoyed my first iced coffee of the season. It was homemade - I just poured some (cooled) brewed coffee into a glass & added some sugar, vegan creamer & a few ice cubes.

I hope your week is off to a good start!

    1. The burrito was soooo good! I was glad it had corn, I haven't had corn in a long time and it was a great surprise! The margarita was a strong ass strawberry frozen margarita. It was really good! The first iced coffee of the season was always a special day for me :) I still can't believe I kicked the coffee habit! It was a huge deal for me :)

  4. I would never think to eat a 'fruit leather'. Thought they were just for kids. I'll have to ponder that one.

    1. Fruit leather is really great. It is a perfect sweet treat when you are craving a fruity candy but don't want all of the sugar and artificial flavors and colors!

  5. Ha! You sound like me. I made it through 1/2 of my glass of birthday wine and looked at my bf and said "omg I think I'm drunk". The burrito looks great! I need to find some good gf wraps so I can make some awesome burritos at home.

    1. Haha that's funny! I'm definitely a cheap date because I rarely drink. It doesn't take much wine to get me toasty either ;)

If you live near a Trader Joe's they make a good brown rice wrap that I love. I make sandwiches, quesadillas and tortilla chips out of them and I prefer them to flour any day!

  6. I just realized that the eight days are over! I hope you celebrated with a bagel or pasta!

Sounds like you had a fantastic morning. Iced coffee!! Hooray!! Fruit and iced coffee make me think of summer. The burrito looks really fresh and beautiful, leftovers are the best.

I hope you had a great Monday!

    1. Haha yes they are finally over! Well I would have loved a bagel but I figured I'd be better off with rice and that was fine by me because I missed my rice!

I agree, leftovers are pretty great, especially when it takes an hour to make your meals for work in the morning! Iced coffee definitely makes me think of summer and I can't wait for watermelon, berries and cherries. Oh man I'm a champion cherry eater!

Thanks you too! Hope your allergies get better soon!

  7. Did you buy anything at the outlets? I've tried fruit leather before but I wasn't impressed. Maybe I need to try another brand or maybe I was hoping it would be thin and bendy like those artifically flavored ones I remember eating as a kid.

    1. Nah I didn't buy anything, I'm not really in the position to do much shopping right now but it was fun to get out! Fruit leather definitely has a different texture than fruit roll ups. I really like it but it's not for everyone!
