Crazy Sexy Diet Cleanse Take 2: Day 12

Hey everyone! Today's post is going to be quick since I have to get out the door for my 10 hour work day. Blah. I know I shouldn't complain because at least I have a job and all that but it's really hard for me to work until 9. Especially when I start at 11. I am a morning person so to be at work until that late is tough for me. You can imagine how I feel when I have to work until 1 am at a wedding.  I'll stop bitching though and just show you what is going to fuel my day. It ended up being a very red day!

A blueberry muffin smoothie. I ran out of Vega though which is possibly why it ended up looking like beet juice?

Midmorning snack will be watermelon and strawberries.

A lunch bowl with millet, roasted chickpeas, roasted cauliflower and sun dried tomatoes.

VaVaBar for afternoon snack.

Dinner will be a big chopped green salad that I have to go pick up since I have limited produce. It's that time of the week where I start scraping meals together ;) I'll get to Whole Foods tomorrow though!

I hope you have a great day! I'm looking forward to relaxing tonight!

    1. Thank you! It went pretty slow but it's over now! I would never have imagined that I'd be drinking smoothies for breakfast almost every day but here I am! It's fun to experiment with them!

Thanks, I'm all cozy in my pjs relaxing now :)

    1. Hahaha this is probably the closest I'll ever be to being festive for Valentine's day ;) The pink was quite pretty though. THanks, so happy it's over!

  3. Gorogeous food! With no Vega, your smoothie is such a fabulous colour! Sometimes I think it's such a shame that greens and powders turn our smoothies such funny colours- but oh well- they taste good so who cares right?

Try not to work too hard ;)

    1. Thank you! I think the blueberries had something to do with it too. THey tasted a little weird. I don't really know why, maybe just a bad bag? It may have also been the lack of powder. Who knows!

Haha thanks I try but it usually doesn't work out that way!

  4. Mmmm...strawberries. My fridge is packed with fruit salad right now. My husband spent Memorial Day chopping up pineapple, watermelon, strawberries, and honeydew melon so we could feast on the yumminess all week. :)

I just got back from vacation, and I ate terribly all week! Lots of white flour pasta and vegan donuts (what can I say, it was vacation!). Your cleanse is inspiring me to get back to a healthy diet, and your photos always look so good.

    1. OMG I am so jealous of your fruit salad! I'm such a sucker for fruit. Enjoy it :)

From what I saw of your adventures on Twitter it seems like it was a great vacation! You have to eat what you want on vacation, you have your whole life to be good! I say if you have access to vegan donuts you should eat vegan donuts! :) It's nice to have you back Sage!

  5. That millet-veggie bowl looks good. I should start eating more simple meals like that. So easy, so good for you.

    1. Thanks Bianca! It was really good. These simple meals happen when I don't have much time to put a meal together and I find that some of the tastiest meals happen this way!

  6. Love the red day! Sun dried tomatoes need to appear in my life, they probably would be great in the cauliflower hash! I think the recipe is in Everyday Happy Herbivore, I'll check tonight when I make it. Or it might happen for breakfast. . .I don't know! I'm hoping to make it to WF tomorrow, too - but for the mega post that seems to be all of my documenting WF stores (it'll be #3).

Hope you are able to relax fully this evening!! :)

    1. Oooh yes sun dried tomatoes in cauliflower hash sounds so good! Haha yes, very excited to see what WF #3 looks like! I need to stock up so bad, my fridge is running on empty here. Some of the farmer's markets start up this weekend so if I can get my butt out of bed on Sunday early enough (I prefer to go early to miss the crowds) I will probably see what they have. I'm excited about it!

      Thanks, I'm trying! :)

  7. Wow, I've never seen blueberries turn a smoothie so pink! It's really pretty. Everything is! I saw strawberries at the farmer's market the other day and had to really hold myself back not to get them, but I will cave soon.

    1. It was very strange that it turned that color! I think the blueberries were weird to be honest, it tasted a bit off. It was definitely pretty though! I have to stop buying strawberries from the store until the price drops a bit but maybe I'll be able to find them at the farmer's market soon! They start this weekend, yay!

  8. The smoothie may not have tasted so great, but I love the color. I want to wear it on my lips and nails! ;-) The millet bowl is a neat combination of vegetables; I bet it would be good with quinoa too. It's Thursday now so you made it through your long day - woot!

    1. It would definitely be the best nail polish color! The one I have on now, and need to take off actually, is pretty close I think! I've had this same veggie combo with quinoa and with brown rice and it's good with every grain :) I usually add nooch to it but I forgot! I made it through Thursday now too!

  9. Yeah, I really can't do long shifts. Well, I'd probably be physically capable of it, but I might not be so fun to be around. :) The thing about teaching piano is that I seldom work for stretches longer than 5 hours, since lessons are always after school. I'm not a huge fan of working evenings either, but at least my workday doesn't start at 11! You manage to eat well despite that, though. :)
