Fun Friday! The Style Edition!

Happy Friday friends! I hope the week has treated you well :) My week is not over yet, I have a wedding to work tomorrow but I am so glad that today was a short day at work! I have time to do some cooking/dehydrating and now I will have some yummy, nutritious snacks to bring with me tomorrow and to share with all of you! I'll try to post it tomorrow if I have time before work.

And now on to Fun Friday! Today's post is going to be dedicated to sharing my personal style with you. I've found some photos of styles that I really love and I think represent me. Granted I don't own any of these outfits or many clothes at all, but if you recall #27 from my Bucket List, one day I will buy myself a new wardrobe. And I assure you these looks will all be represented there :)

The photos of the first 7 outfits are all from one of my friends' Pinterest page. Apparently we have very similar styles :) Sorry the photos are so small, they are low res files so they are super blurry if I enlarge them.

I love the simplicity of this and I LOVE these jeans. I'm a big fan of the layered look, as you'll tell from most of these outfits. I don't have pierced ears but the rest of the accessories are adorable!

Love purple and gray together! I'd leave the hat but love everything else. You'll also notice a trend that I love flats! I rarely ever wear heels to be honest. I know they look nice and all that and I do enjoy heels once in a while, but on a daily basis I prefer flats.

Another cute layered look! Love these jeans too. I'd pass on the hearts but I love everything else.

This outfit is perfect. How cute is that dress?! I want it!

This is my absolute favorite outfit and 100% indicative of how I dress now. The jeans are the perfect length, I layer v-necks over tanks almost every day, the bag is ADORABLE, wedges are the only heels I'll wear on a semi regular basis and the accessories are so cute. By far my favorite outfit and also the one closest to how I dress.

Again, this is close to how I dress. Another simple, layered look with flats.

Love the jeans and apparently I need to investigate Tom's shoes because I'm loving all of the ones I see with these outfits! Gotta love that there is a vegan section on the website!

During the summer you'll see me mostly in dresses and skirts. I find them to be the most comfortable and I LOVE maxi dresses! This is when I'm forced to wear the wedge shoes ;) I love the far right one in the above photo but I would never feel comfortable rocking that much cleavage.

The last time I was in Target I saw that they were carrying Converse brand clothing! How cute is this dress?!

Speaking on Converse, I'm a big fan of the Classic Chuck Taylor's as well as this super cute double tongue Chuck Taylor!

I've been trying not to be such a lazy ass about doing my nails and I love this look! White nail polish with colored glitter over it. I always go dark but white would be so cute for the summer! LOVE.

One pair of heels that I do own and love are my sequined skull heels. I've worn them once and they hurt like crazy but I'm waiting for an occasion to wear them again!

So that is just a snippet of my personal style and what my dream wardrobe looks like :)

I would like to end this Fun Friday post with a huge thank you to Caralyn for nominating me for...

the One Lovely Blog Award! Thank you so much Caralyn, you are so sweet!

The rules are fairly simple – share a few things about yourself your readers don’t already know, and pass the award on to some of your favorite bloggers.

Hmmm ok facts that no one knows... I feel like I always share random info :)

1. I went to Hebrew School 3 days a week for 8 years when I was younger. I can still read Hebrew but don't understand it. I never got Bat Mitzvah'd.
2. I want to road trip the California coast for my 30th birthday in 2013.
3. I am motivated by competition. I want to be better than the boys.
4. I still want to start a vegan business. Since my own tastes and eating habits have changed, so has my idea for what kind of business I'd like to have. While I'd still like to do some baking (probably more on a special order basis) I'd love to focus on mostly gluten free, (some) raw, snacks and treats. In my ideal world I'd be selling at Farmer's Markets. I'd have the cutest presentations for my treats ;)

And my nominees:

Gabby from The Veggie Nook
Sage from Sweet and Sage
Molly from Vegan Flower

And for the record, I think all of the blogs that I follow and comment on are lovely and amazing and you are all wonderful people! Nominating people is so hard! I try to share the love with all of the blogs I read.

Hope you all enjoyed this peek into my personal style :)  Have a great Friday and if I can get on tomorrow before the wedding I will. I have to leave my house at 11:30 AM though and it'll be tight between the gym and the start time so I may be back on Sunday! If that is the case I hope you all have a lovely Saturday as well!

  1. First of all- you and I would get a long so well. We have such similar taste in clothes right now! I go through phases where I get all fashionable and dress up all the time (comfort doesn't matter) but then other times (like now) I like balancing cute, fun, comfortable and casual. All of your picks totally speak to this! I love the more dressed up look too! I don;t think that dress would look good on me but I wish it would! Other faves- shoes in the first pic and watch in the last one. LOVE.

Thank you for nominating me :) You are such a sweetheart! I'm glad you enjoy my blog since I love yours and I'm so glad to have "met" you!

Have a lovely weekend and try not to work too hard ;)

    1. Haha I definitely get the sense that we would get along well :) I love simple, comfortable clothes. I'm definitely more of a casual, laid back kind of gal. I'm totally obsessed with that dress! It is so cute! That cut is what looks best on me usually.

Aww no problem! I definitely love visiting your blog! You are so inspiring! I'm glad to have "met" you too!

      Thanks, I'll try! :)

  2. Super cute clothes! I layer a lot, too. Maxi dresses are so comfortable, and cute! I'm relatively tall (a little over 5' 8 1/2"), and I prefer flats. A decent pair of heels puts me at 6 feet - no thanks! Ha!

What fun facts to learn about you! Do you decide not to have a Bat Mitzvah, or did it just happen that way? I think a cross country road trip would be so much fun, I hope you get to do it! I know you'll achieve the vegan business!!

    1. I love layering, I think it is a great look! My favorite piece of clothing that I own is my maxi dress. I wish I could wear it every day! I didn't realize you were so tall! I'm short and I still prefer flats :) I'm definitely ok with the fact that I'm vertically challenged.

The Bat Mitzvah situation was a little bit of both. I really hate being in front of people and the center of attention. The idea of having to read/sing in hebrew in front of an entire congregation really freaked me out. I actually started my lessons but had major anxiety every time I thought about it. We actually ended up moving in the summer and my bat mitzvah date was November and we basically couldn't go back and forth to the old temple and never found a new one. I didn't object to it ha! I really hate parties in my honor, I've never had one... no Bat Mitzvah, no Sweet 16 and to be honest if I ever get married I wouldn't want a wedding.

Cross country would be fun but I'm thinking up the California coast would be more doable! I'd like to start in SoCal and end up in San Francisco :) And thanks, I hope I get this business going!

  3. You don't have pierced ears?! Dare I ask where these five piercings are that you speak of?

    1. Oops sorry I meant pierced ear lobes! All of my piercings are in random parts of my ears, but the lobes are not pierced. Ha!

  4. That is a lot of cleavage with the one dress, lol! I've been trying to keep my nails in reasonable shape - they've been low all my life because I'm a piano player and you need to have well-trimmed nails for that. But I've never trimmed them because .. I bite them! Arg! But it's been better! Having pretty nails definitely helps though, my friend did my nails the other week and it was lovely! Lotsa pretty clothes here! :)

    1. Ha I know! It's so pretty though! I don't like to keep my nails long, I find they are annoying and get in the way and break to easily. I get lazy with my nails but I'm trying to get better with it :)

  5. You totally deserve it! :) I love your style! It's hip and relaxed, cute and cool. I really like the turquoise v-neck...that's very similar to my style too! And i love flats..in NYC, you walk everywhere, so flats are a must. I have to wear heels when i go out on auditions, so I bring them in a bag and put them on when i get there! there's no way i could navigate the subways in stilettos! haha great post! have a good day a work tomorrow!

    1. Thanks! I would never be able to walk around the city in heels. I have no idea how they do it! That outift with the v neck is so my favorite :) I want a hat like that but I can't decide if I like the way I look in hats lol!

  6. Ah, thanks so much for the award! I'm honored that you would choose me over all the great blogs out there. :)

I was just looking at Tom's shoes the other day because they're so simple & cute. Like you, I don't do heels (although the one pair you have is AWESOME!).

I have a grey hat almost exactly like the picture with the adorable wedges in it.

Those dresses are all so cute. I don't own a single pair of heels or a skirt/dress.... maybe I should at least get a cute skirt. I kind of miss wearing them!

    1. You're welcome! Very well deserved :) I love Tom's especially that grey and white striped one in the last pic! I have more than one pair of heels but those are my favs :) I have more wedges than heels though, I find them a bit more comfortable when I do have to put on some heels.

I LOVE that hat! I can't decide if I look good in hats like that though!

It's fun to dress up once in a while :) And during the summer I find it cooler and more comfy in skirts and dresses!

  7. Why oh why do you live on the other side of the country? Seriously, we'd be hanging out all the time if we lived in the same town. At least I'll get to see you in 2013 during your roadtrip, right?

I love seeing these style boards on Pinterest. I once saw a comic about "the sad feeling you get when you realize the clothes you pin on Pinterest don't magically appear in your closet." So true. :)

I don't have my earlobes pierced either. I have a collection of cute flats, and I'd like to get a pair of Tom's too.

Thank you so much for the blog award! I really hope you pursue your dream of running a vegan business.

    1. I know, we would totally hang out all the time! Hell yeah you'll see me on the road trip! :)

OMG that is so true! I wish that these outfits were in my closet!

The first time I saw Tom's I wasn't impressed with them but the ones in the pic are so cute! I definitely have to check them out!

You are so welcome! It is very well deserved :) Thank you so much, I am working on my confidence and logistics :)

  8. Great looks. I love this post, and I love you love flats! I have a really hard time wearing heels, and I cannot wear them if I'm going to be spending more than a little time walking or standing around. So thanks for standing up for flats - yea!

I'm really surprised that you don't have pierced earlobes. I thought they would be the first things anyone gets pierced. My lobes are the only thing I have pierced. Honestly I regret getting the two extra piercings in my right lobe because I don't really use them, and they won't close and then they get sort of infected and itchy sometimes - yuck! (Sorry if I'm grossing you out.)

Your Hebrew school experience seems really cool. I'm fascinated by language, and I think it's neat that Hebrew is an ancient language that has made a comeback and that there are people who actually speak it today (at least in Israel). I think the Pacific Coast Highway is on a lot of people's bucket lists and rightly so. I have not done it yet, but I went on a cross country trip, and my friend and I saw a good part of the Oregon coast which is gorgeous too. I'm not big on competition but I support just about any girl who wants to be better than the boys - so go Sarah! If you open a vegan business, I will be sure to visit it.

    Again, I loved this post!

    1. Aww thanks Rachel! Haha I love that all of my readers love flats too :) Not only am I standing up for flats but I'm a SHORT GIRL standing up for flats! :) I get told all the time I should wear heels and I really couldn't care less about what they say!

I had my ear lobes pierced when I was a baby and the holes migrated as I grew up so I took them out. I've always thought about getting them repierced but never have. Haha it takes more than that to gross me out! ;)

When you are a kid (and I was really little, I was done with 8 years but the time I turned 13) you don't appreciate things like Hebrew School. To me it was just a few hours a day 3 days a week more of school. We learned a lot more than just the Hebrew language... it was also culture and history and things like that. The language was just part of it and clearly I didn't retain much of that, ha!

A cross country road trip sounds amazing! Haha I'm totally representing the ladies ;) Aww I would love for you to visit my business :)

Thank you so much, I loved writing it!
