Planning for Success

Hey friends! Thank you all so much for helping me count down to my glorious day of freedom last week :) Your kind words always help me get through the busy times! I enjoyed my day off by spending some time with Delilah and then relaxing and watching a bunch of TV. Probably not the most productive way to spend my time but I was able to rest my body and I was happy to be able to do that.

Today's post has a little bit of everything I think! I have a meal from yesterday, some planning for the week and some inspiration :)

Last night's dinner was really yummy. A home made Chipotle bowl with rice and beans, salsa, daiya and avocado. I served with with a tortilla since I'm too much of a spazz to roll a decent burrito that actually stays together. After this meal I put the rest of my Daiya in the freezer because a) I've been eating it too much lately and b) It seems to be lasting forever! Seriously the bag just won't end!

The perfect bite!

Today I took a ton of time to get a lot of fruit ready for smoothies for the week. I really want to get back into the habit of drinking smoothies every day and being prepared is key. I added 4 more bags of cherries to my other two in the freezer (I'm going to make these last!) as well as some strawberries. I had the bananas already and just added them to the pile so you could see how much fruit I have ha! I also have half a bag of frozen blueberries as well as some frozen pineapple. I think I'm set on smoothies for a while!

While I was cleaning I found this old fortune and thought it was so perfect for the headspace I'm in right now. "You'll never know what you can do until you try." This is so true!

So I have a question. I just tried to upload another photo and it said that I'm out of space in my Picasa account or something. I didn't even know I had a Picasa account and when I clicked to get details it said I had 5 GB of drive space that I wasn't using. I'm confused I guess and if I don't upgrade does that mean I can't upload any more photos at all? Has this happened to any of you, and if so did you just pay to upgrade? Please let me know, I'm so confused!

I hope that you all had a great day and that Monday wasn't too tough for you!

  1. I've never even heard of Picasa. Were you uploading in the Blogger post screen?

I love the individual smoothie sized bags of fruit! I should do that. I usually just buy already frozen fruit, but it's probably cheaper to buy fresh in season and freeze yourself.

    The Chipotle bowl looks terrific!

    1. Yup I was uploading from my computer directly to the Blogger post screen. I just looked at the help page and it says that it all uploaded photos are automatically stored in Picasa. I guess maybe I ran out of space so quickly because my files are huge? I have no idea but that's kind of annoying. Boo!

I've been pretty unhappy with the quality of the frozen fruit I've been getting lately and I figured I may as well just freeze my own fresh fruit. Plus I can just grab and go!

      Thanks!

  2. I have a burrito-folding issue, myself! Ha! Wonder if we could take classes? It's kind of the reason I'm hesitant to make my own spring rolls. Hooray for the never-ending bag of Daiya! :) Prepping for the week - I've had to return to that, too. I love how vibrant all the fruit appears!

I am so glad you made it through a busy two weeks, and I hope the following weeks are busy enough - but not too much! Is August an over-booked month for you?

Picasa is on my computer, but I'm fairly unfamiliar with it. I hope someone can offer a good solution!

    1. I have a feeling practice makes perfect with the burrito! I also think that gf tortillas aren't the best vehicle for folding as they tend to get a little dry kind of quickly. I can't wait to make my smoothies!

Thanks me too. August slows down quite a bit but I'll still be working here and there so that is good.

I figured out a solution. Will share tomorrow :)

  3. I had no idea that you can run out of room in Picasa.... maybe that's why Tumblr advertises that they allow limitless space for each blog? I'll have to look into this.

Love the frozen fruit. I've been doing that lately for smoothies, too. How do you pit your cherries? I've never done that before and am curious. :)

    1. I guess what happens is your photos that you upload go into a random picasa album automatically and you only have 1GB of space that you can use before you get charged for it. My files are HUGE and I post a lot of photos so I guess it makes sense that I ran out of space.

I used to pit them by cutting them in half and removing the pit but I decided the $10 for a cherry pitter was worth it so instead of a million hours it took like a half million hours to pit ;)

    2. See, that's what I'm scared of with having x-large photos on my blog, which is why I keep going back & forth about Tumblr. It like it because it's free, but it has it's own problems. Ack.

    3. I like tumblr and it is good as a photo blog but it has a very different vibe from blogger or wordpress or whatever.

  4. Lol @ the burrito rolling...that's a pretty beautiful rice bowl. I make something really similar, it's especially really good when ingredients are low. I like throwing in corn sometimes too! And yeah, when I have Daiya kicking around I just want to eat it...all the time... ha ha. :) Good call on the smoothie bags, it wouldn't take long to do and saves so much time in the morning!

I have no idea about the Picasa thing. It might be the picture server that Blogger uses? Hopefully it's just a glitch, no pictures would be sad :(

    1. ;) I think the gf tortillas have a little to do with the spazziness of the roll... they dry out and crack so easily! Corn would be awesome in this, I'll definitely have to add it next time! I was craving smoothies today so I figured I'd make it easier on myself as I'm impatient in the morning ;)

Yeah I totally used up my space. Damn RAW files! I figured out a solution though, stay tuned!

  5. Glad to hear your day off was great! I know what you mean about Daiya- I don't buy it anymore because the bag lasts forever and I end up putting it on everything! But it definitely made your burrito bowl look awesome :)

Not sure about your Blogger issues, but I got your email and I'll try and get back to you when I'm done work today!

    1. Thanks Gabby! Yeah I'm going to lay off for a while and I still have some in the freezer. It never ends! The burrito bowl was really yummy.

  8. Hey there! I found your site through happytummies - yours is super fun! Thanks for sharing the info about being prepared with your food for the week. It's been the biggest help in my life, too -- just feeling prepared and set up for good eating for the week makes such a difference! I have been on a crazy sweet potato kick lately... there have been cooked ones in the fridge every day for several weeks, but we eat them so quickly, I seem to always be making another batch! Perhaps a bigger batch next time. ;)

    Happy cooking!
