Crankypants

Hey everyone. This will probably end up being a short post because I'm feeling pretty cranky right now. I'm tired, I've had a rough week and my bad mood was heightened by being in the presence of someone else in a crappy mood. It's funny, I'm usually in a pretty good mood, but when I come in the presence of this person my mood immediately changes. That's the epitome of a toxic person.

Anyway, besides being a crankypants, the day went pretty much as expected. I woke up at the crack of dawn and did an hour of cardio. I came home, showered, made breakfast then went to work.

Breakfast was another Cherry Chocolate Smoothie. I am running out of ways to photograph it so I decided to take a pic of the blender. Please notice how much spinach is in that blender and how the person that added it used to say how she could never drink green smoothies. What a difference a few months makes.

Mid day snack was a juicy orange.

My very late lunch/snack was some stuffed grape leaves with hummus and some gf crackers. I didn't get out of work until 3 and didn't get a chance to eat at work so I wanted to keep lunch light so I'd be able to eat dinner.

Dinner is another amazing chopped salad with avocado. Still trying new angles...

I have plans to hang out with a friend that is coming into town for the weekend. I don't really want to go because I just want to relax but I suppose I should stop being useless. We'll probably go to a coffee house and I'll probably get green tea.

So there you have it. Tomorrow I'm going to be out all day celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday. It should be fun... then it's back to the grind, another 6 day work week with extended hours. At least I have a double training session to look forward to on Monday.

  1. As I took a picture of my green juice this morning I thought, "Again? No one wants to see this." But I love every photo I see of your green smoothies. So keep posting them! And I hope you feel better :)

    1. Aww thanks Nikki! I always feel like my photos get boring because I eat the same things all of the time. I'll just have to keep experimenting with angles and light to try and sass them up. Your photos are always gorgeous!

  2. I hope next week is better for you. I totally know the feeling of wanting to just stay home alone for "you time" but sometimes it helps to get out and talk to a good friend.
The food looks great, as does the nail polish matching yr shirt ;) I've got to pick up those crackers. Raw crackers are too expensive and regular cracker I eat too quickly. I had a flavor I didn't like too much but I'm willing to try again.

    1. Thanks, yeah I didn't want to go but I ended up having a good time. Haha that is funny I didn't even realize the polish! It is actually purple but looks blue in that light. The Mary's Gone Crackers are very good but they are also expensive. I've tried the caraway and onion flavors and both are very good. I wish I had a constant supply of the farmer's market raw crackers because they were amazing!

  3. I hope next week is better for you, too. What a week it's been for so many!

The angle of your salad turned out great. It made the colors really pop out.

    Enjoy your day off tomorrow!

  5. Haha, yes the blender was surprisingly clean. It's funny how it is one of the hardest appliances for me to clean yet it always seems to be cleaner than anything else. The avocado was perfectly ripe, thanks! I haven't seen Delilah in too long, I miss the little princess!

    1. Hi Inge! The cherry chocolate smoothie is very simple. It is 1-1.25 cups frozen organic cherries, 1 serving Vega Choc-A-Lot Shake and Go Smoothie powder (you can sub with your favorite chocolate protein powder), 1 cup plant milk (I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk) and some spinach. As you can see from my pic I use A LOT of greens. You can start with 1 packed cup and add more as you like.
