Crazy Sexy Diet Cleanse Take 2: Day 4

Hey everyone! I'm so happy to report that I woke up today feeling much better. I have more energy, feel less cloudy, I'm more alert and am in a better mood. My shoulders are still sore but maybe down the road they'll start to feel better? Last night was really rough, it took forever to fall asleep even though I was exhausted. I never got my appetite back after feeling sick at the gym so I never ended up eating my Buddha Bowl but managed to get down a Vega Protein Bar instead. Day Three of the cleanse is where you hit the wall according to Kris Carr and there you have it! I can't believe I hit it that hard but I guess I had more toxins to get rid of than I thought.

I've been doing  everything I can do to be as healthy as possible. I dug out my Vitamin B complex and Vitamin D supplements and will be taking those daily. I also took a little extra Vitamin C since that is supposed to help seasonal allergies. Even though I was sore from yesterday (my trainer mangled my legs!) I still did my 45 minutes on the rebounder. For the record, it is incredibly boring but I'm glad I did it.

I'm also eating some great food today! Check it!

I woke up pretty late this morning so I got a late start on my meals. I drank half of this smoothie before my workout and half after. It has frozen banana and blueberries, almond milk, Vanilla Vega Shake & Go Powder, and spinach. Brendan Brazier says blueberries and bananas are good for post workout recovery so it was perfect! I wanted to get some calories in before since I had eaten so little after my workout last night. I love the photo too. The reflection of the ridges on the lid make it look all wavy :)

For lunch I had a big spinach salad (later drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette)...

...and the other half of my zucchini boat. It was so good and I love how it makes the house smell like pizza! I had to blot a little bit because the Daiya got a bit greasy but it was still good.

My afternoon snack will be a Orange Coconut VaVaBar. Yum!

For dinner I'll eat last night's Buddha Bowl at room temp (no microwave folks!). I'm looking forward to this meal!

I'm glad that I'm starting to feel better. It was making me anxious to be feeling so poorly which doesn't help! Hopefully I'll feel better every day!

Hope you all have a great day!

    1. Thanks Gabby! I'm definitely better than I was and hopefully the longer I detox the better I'll feel!

Thank you! You did an amazing job showing creativity during a cleanse! I need to peruse your recipe page and start making a grocery list so I can make some of your dishes!

    1. Thank you!! The rebounder is a trampoline, I basically just run in place on it as fast as I can. I do it because it is no impact which is better for my neck and shoulders. I'll get back to the treadmill soon though, 5 months til Tough Mudder! :)

Thanks! The zucchini boat was really delicious!

  3. Great news! Day three sounds about right for a big shift, glad you are on the other side! Will you still investigate with an allergist?

The smoothie photo is beautiful!! Both the salad and your VaVa Bar look super yummy. The zucchini boat does look like a healthy veggie pizza!!

Hope your Wednesday is as fast as possible! :)

    1. Thanks! I think I'll feel better as the days progress which definitely makes me happy. I definitely have to make an appointment with my doctor and go over everything and start to really investigate because I shouldn't have to feel yucky and tired and uncomfortable all the time.

Thanks!! The zucchini boat really did taste like pizza, it was crazy! It would be really good with a portobello mushroom too!

      Thanks, you too!

  4. It's not normal to feel so poorly at your young age. Don't make me call your mother. I know your last name and I could track her down.

    1. I totally agree with you, especially because I go to a lot of effort to take good care of myself! My mom knows, she has been telling me to go to my primary care physician and I'm definitely going to schedule something with her to try and get some answers!

  5. Glad to hear you're feeling better. The smoothie looks gorgeous. Had you had Daiya previously? I still haven't tried it but it looks really good. I tend to love stuffed vegetables like that anyway.

    1. The smoothie was really good! I've had Daiya before and I like it. I always keep it in the freezer to avoid eating it too often though! Moderation ;) Stuffed veggies are great, I just found a recipe for zucchini, corn and ricotta (I'd use tofutti) stuffed tomatoes! That sounds so good!

  6. The blueberry smoothie picture is cool. I want to try that zucchini pizza idea when local zucchinis start coming out in a couple months; looks very yummy. I'm glad you're starting to feel better.

  7. So glad you're feeling better!! All the food looks vibrant and yummy, as usual.

I agree that rebounding is boring...I try to do it 20 minutes a day before I go for a run or a swim, but sometimes I just want to get going and don't want to stick around for the 20 min of bouncing...I can't stand tread mills or exercise bikes either.

    The smoothie looks extra yummy!

    1. Thanks Rose! :) It's so boring and I don't like treadmills either but I know that I have to take baby steps before I start running outside. I'm just not a runner which is why I have no idea why I signed up for a 12 mile run! It's so daunting!

  8. I always have to blot my Daiya, too. Ick. But I have NOT tried it on zucchini yet - yum!

    1. The zucchini was great! You can always cut it into rounds and make in zucchini parmesan too :) Yeah I was surprised it was so greasy but I've always blotted cheese so it was like the old days ;)
